Networkology’ is the word we use to describe the ‘art & science’ of creating high-performing disability networks/resource groups.
About the workshop webinars
PurpleSpace founder and CEO, Kate Nash OBE will lead and chair this engaging day full of webinars for new, budding or experienced network/resource group leaders. We have five enticing webinars for our members to digitally gain the skills and knowledge to strengthen your network and resource groups.
These workshops not only give you a chance to learn from our brilliant speakers through practical and realistic tips, but you will also be given the chance to ask questions in each of the sessions and learn from other budding Networkologists.
This series of fully-captioned online workshops is perfect if you:

Agenda
Workshop 1: Making the business case for network/resource group investment - 10:00 - 10:30 (BST)
Having a powerful business case as part of your toolkit is essential to ensuring the success of your network. Here we will share how to build a solid business case for your network /resource group to help you secure some of the diversity and inclusion budget to build your network/resource group.
Guest Speaker: Sally Ward
Sally has over 15 years of experience as an Inclusion Specialist, with the development of ground-breaking projects, such as the Disability Passport.
Workshop 2: Creating the right governance and structure - 11:15 – 12:15 (BST)
We will help you deliver your network/resource group's objectives with clear lines of communication and accountability. In this workshop, we will share our expert advice with you to help you to build a highly successful network and implement culture change, including key roles to establish in your delivery vehicle. You will learn how other networks have developed their structure and what they have learned.
We know that there is no single correct way to design the right structure and governance of your organisation, but there are some fundamental principles. This workshop will give you practical tips that can be applied immediately, leaving you feeling refreshed and re-energised.
Guest Speaker: Sarah Hindle
Sarah is a Senior Manager in the TSB Treasury team and the co-chair of the TSB Disability Network, with a special interest in mental health.
Workshop 3: Recruiting and engaging with volunteers - 12:45 – 13:45 (BST)
It's equally important to engage, excite and equip volunteers as it is to recruit them. This informative webinar shows you how you can support and reward volunteers over time, working purposely towards a common agenda, focusing on three key stages.
The experience, increased capacity and knowledge that volunteers can bring makes them an essential part of a high performing network/resource group.

Heather is the CRB Strategic Project Lead and also leads on CRB GB Learning & Development and CRB GB Innovation.
Workshop 4: Working with your sponsor/champion - 14:30 – 15:30 (BST)
The role of a disability champion or executive sponsor is crucial to ensuring that your network/resource group has support that reaches all parts of your organisation. In this workshop, we will share insights into how to secure a champion that is right for your network and how to work with them, helping you to set expectations to maximise productivity.
This workshop will include 9 golden rules in nurturing your relationship with sponsors.
Guest Speaker: Andy Garrett from GSK
Andy is a Founding Ambassasdor at PurpleSpace and has a career spanning 30 years, focusing on training and development, diversity and inclusion, disability networks - including as a founder and leader - and workplace adjustments.
Workshop 5: Creating purposeful, realistic objectives and measure performance over time - 16:00 – 16:30 (BST)
Networks who ask the question “how will we know if we are successful” are likely to make consistent progress over time. This digital workshop will enable you to understand the ways in which your network/resource group can set measurable, achievable impactful objectives.
This workshop is key because we know and understand that the time you have spend on your network/resource group. We will help you create objectives which reflect this.
