On 18th June 2019 Fujitsu are kindly hosting our first CEO / senior executive dinner in London. At a time when we are witnessing much change around the disability agenda, Duncan Tait and Gavin Bounds bring together CEO’s from across industries and sectors to hear of our work to drive cultural change on disability inclusion and reflect on the fresh opportunities that exist to mine the #PurpleLightUp.
As part of this dinner we focus on two important movements – the first is #PurpleLightUp, the global movement designed to celebrate the economic contribution of disabled people, that is fast becoming synonymous with International Day of Persons with Disabilities held annually on 3rd December. Initiated and powered by PurpleSpace, this is a simple yet extraordinarily powerful idea that enables disabled people to come together within organisations to create influential networks / employee resource groups (ERG's).
The second movement is #Valuable 500, led by Caroline Casey, which pledges to get 500 global organisations to commit to inclusive business 365 days a year. PurpleSpace is proud to be an expert partner of #Valuable and the two CEO's are in talks to discuss how they mobilise their collective clout to drive change from the top down and bottom up.
We know that creating diverse and inclusive high performing teams is essential in today’s market and that means attracting and retaining disabled talent.
During the evening, guests will receive a report back on #PurpleLightUp 2018 and debate the challenges and opportunities that business leaders have to make progress on. It is important that we all give credibility and serious debate to ensuring 1.3 billion disabled people around the globe (World Bank Group) know that their talents are valued and sought after.
Following this event we will share plans for this year’s #PurpleLightUp ensuring that we are able to demonstrate the power of change by leveraging employee networks / ERGs.
