Starting Out

Starting Out

Setting up a network or resource group from scratch takes more than picking a great name, testing the idea through some internal focus groups and having a committed Diversity & Inclusion Lead or Disability Champion.

Important as those things are, establishing the circumstances for a network to flourish requires a detailed understanding about how to ‘reach’ people with different disability life experiences.

It requires sensitive handling of challenging information and experience in how to ‘engage’ with people who may not feel comfortable in sharing their personal experiences with others – including line managers who often don’t know where to start.

That is why we created a range of ‘start-up’ services to help any business, of whatever size or shape to create the bedrock for a disability network or resource group to emerge and thrive.

Our services include:

  • Our pioneering ‘Lived Experience’ focus groups to unearth the challenges disabled employees may face, the opportunities that exist for a network and the creation of the first steering group or committee
  • Guidance on creating the right governance structure for a disability network or resource group
  • Coaching and mentoring for new network leaders (between 6 – 18 month packages).

As a starting point, please email to outline your needs. We will then contact you to discuss and create a be-spoke costing outline. Even if you are not sure about what you want, just reach out and we’ll take it from there.
