The Magic Trio: stakeholders working together

May - The Magic Trio: stakeholders working together

Driving cultural change requires many efforts from many parts of an organisation and its important that everyone sings from the same song sheet. We often refer to how the magic happens when three main stakeholders align:

The network / resource group
The diversity and inclusion team
The senior disability champion

This month we will remind ourselves about how the stakeholders can get 'in flow'.

We will:

Shine a light on best practice between the three key stakeholders
How the network / resource group can help all parts of an organisation to learn directly from its own people
Encourage network leaders to reach out to colleagues in their work
Offer you the opportunity to engage with PurpleSpace Ambassadors and fellow members

What can you look forward to this month?

One of our PurpleSpace Ambassadors will kick off the month for us with a welcome in the Member Zone - and pose the big question, 'Why is it important for the Magic Trio to work together?'

Our webcast for May is called 'Creating Alignment' where we share some examples of how our members are using the Magic Trio to work together. And on Thursday 21st May we will host 'Working Hand in Glove #2' a webinar where our members will discuss how employee networks / resource groups and diversity and inclusion team can work together to deliver powerful results.

We also launch the second edition of 'The Magic Trio' a briefing of good practice in how to work in partnership with your senior sponsor / champion.

This month's external resource review will focus on team interaction as Sally Ward reviews a relevant external resource and as usual we will have our monthly 'Spotlight On ...' interview by writer Jim Pollard - get in touch if you would like to be interviewed as part of our series.

To round the month up we invite you to drop into the Member Zone between 16:00 - 17:00 on Monday 25th May 2020 for our MZChat. Join in the conversation led by a PurpleSpace Ambassador, to share learning and offer your top tips to other members.

The four questions we will ask are:

  • What are the basic principles when building great working relationships?
  • What ways can you demonstrate the reach and impact of the network / resource group?
  • What "check points" should you build into your work programmes so you can demonstrate joint success?
  • How do you make sure you are not duplicating efforts or stepping on peoples' toes?
