FutureMaker Programme 2026-27
APPLICATIONS FutureMaker Programme 2026-2027
Disability ERGs and Networks are shaping the future of workplace culture globally by shifting mindsets, influencing strategy, and driving inclusion at scale. This work sits at the heart of PurpleSpace’s Vision 2028: to become the Global Network of Networks, connecting disability ERG/Network leaders across regions, industries, and lived experiences to amplify collective impact.
The FutureMaker programme is a fundamental part of PurpleSpace membership and a key pathway through which this vision comes to life. Delivered through three time‑zone‑aligned global cohorts (EMEA+, APAC, and the AMERICAS), FutureMakers develops the next generation of disability ERG/Network leaders, building confidence, capability, and connection so participants can lead change locally while contributing to a powerful global movement. As part of the programme, participants apply PurpleSpace’s Networkology Self - Assessment Tool to establish a clear baseline, strengthen strategic focus, and track progress as their ERG/Network grows in confidence, influence, and impact.
The FutureMaker programme is open to aspiring disability ERG/Network leaders, newly appointed leaders (for example, within the last six months), or leaders of ERGs/Networks launched within the past 12 months. Disabled and non‑disabled applicants are welcomed. FutureMakers focuses on emerging leadership, supporting individuals early in their journey to use disability ERG/Network leadership as a lever for cultural and organisational change.
FutureMakers is a global programme, and representation and access matter to us. As cohorts are formed, we seek a balanced mix of geographies, experiences, and perspectives. Where candidates are evenly matched against the essential criteria, regional context may be considered alongside leadership potential and lived experience. This approach is intended to broaden participation over time, without creating barriers for organisations or candidates.
Futurist Members power the FutureMakers programme and as part of their membership, Futurist Members may nominate two (2) participants and are responsible for completing the internal sifting process, submitting only the two (2) final nominees. To broaden access, PurpleSpace is taking a proactive approach to global representation by reserving capacity for candidates based in Africa. Strong candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria will be considered, and where appropriate, organisations may nominate an additional (third) FutureMaker when putting forward a suitable candidate from Africa. Selection remains grounded in leadership potential, not geography alone.
Core Members may apply for one (1) slot on the FutureMaker programme through a competitive process, with up to 20 places available for Core Members. To ensure balanced representation, 12 of these places are prioritised for applicants from public‑sector and NGO organisations, with the remaining places available to corporate Core Members. Corporate members also have the option to upgrade to Futurist membership, which includes two (2) guaranteed places.
Applications open on 1 June 2026 and close on 30 June 2026, with places allocated to successful applicants in the order they are received and approved. The FutureMaker Programme is a 12‑month programme that runs annually from October to October.
FutureMakers is a member‑only programme and requires an active PurpleSpace membership for the duration of participation.
